Old Governor’s Mansion receives historic piano donation

Talking Points:

  • Old Governor’s Mansion received the piano of former Gov. Georgia Washington Bonaparte Towns.
  • Towns served as governor from 1847 to 1851.
  • Piano is an original piece to the home.

“The piano will allow our visitors to have new insights into the lives and times of the governors who lived in the Mansion,” said Director Matt Davis. “Pieces such as the Town’s piano, help us to increase our knowledge about life in the Executive Mansion and help us to better tell the stories of those who lived here.”
