- The Georgia College Volleyball program and head coach Gretchen Krumdieck pulled in their second-straight American Volleyball Coaches (AVCA) Team Academic Award, the organization announced recently.
- The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.
- The Bobcats posted a 3.53 GPA for 2015-16, well over the minimum requirement and 0.1 above last year’s mark. The AVCA broke a record set last year with over 764 recipients of this honor, including 120 in Division II Women’s Volleyball.
- Georgia College was one of four teams from the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) on the list, joining Francis Marion University, the University of Montevallo and USC Aiken.
